How many trips to Mexico are required for All-on-4 dental implants?

Many All-on-4 dental implant cases in Mexico require two trips. During the first visit, the clinic typically completes the examination, final imaging, extractions when necessary, implant placement, and delivery of a fixed temporary bridge. The implants are then allowed to heal and integrate with the bone before the permanent restoration is produced.

The second trip commonly takes place several months later and may include updated scans or impressions, bite verification, try-in appointments, adjustments, and delivery of the final zirconia or other permanent bridge. The exact healing period and number of days required during each trip depend on the patient’s health, bone quality, treatment complexity, and the clinic’s restorative process.

Some clinics advertise a one-trip or immediate-final-teeth protocol. This may be possible for selected patients, but it is not appropriate for every case. In some one-trip packages, the teeth delivered immediately are a long-term acrylic or reinforced restoration rather than a final zirconia bridge. Patients should ask specifically whether the prosthesis delivered during the first trip is temporary, transitional, or intended as the definitive restoration.

Additional trips may be required if implants need extra healing time, a complication develops, an implant does not integrate, or major adjustments are needed. SOTA Dental’s Clinical Excellence Program may reduce the treatment price for qualified cases by up to $3,000 per arch, with some premium zirconia arches available for approximately $8,000. Applicants should receive a personalized schedule explaining the expected number of trips, length of stay, and timing of the final restoration before booking travel.
