Los Algodones is SOTA Dental’s most experienced location for zygomatic implants. Our lead surgeon specializes in these advanced procedures, which allows us to treat severe bone loss cases without needing to bring in outside specialists. Even with this advantage, zygomatic implants still require two or three trips because each mouth heals differently and the treatment must be adapted to the patient’s specific condition.
Your first visit is generally five to seven days. During this trip, our surgeon places the zygomatic implants and, when possible, provides same day teeth. Because many patients receiving zygomatic implants also need bone grafting, sinus reconstruction, or additional implants for stability, the healing period is more unpredictable than a regular All on 4. Patients return home and recover for several months while the implants integrate with the zygomatic bone.
The second or third trip is when your permanent prosthesis is created by our in house lab. This usually requires seven to ten days so our team can perform multiple adjustments to ensure the prosthesis fits correctly and distributes bite pressure evenly. Patients from the United States love Los Algodones because it is easy to access by simply crossing the border from California or Arizona, but they should expect a longer and more customized treatment timeline for zygomatic cases.
