Most patients need one or two trips to Mexico for dental implants, depending on the type of treatment they choose and the condition of their bone. At SOTA Dental, single dental implants can often be completed in one visit when the bone is healthy and the implant has strong initial stability. In these cases, our surgeons place the implant and our in house lab creates the crown during the same trip. Patients typically stay a few days for design, milling, and adjustments, then return home with a completed restoration.
When a single implant needs time to heal before the final crown can be placed, the treatment becomes a two trip process. The first trip is for the surgical placement of the implant, and the second trip is for impressions and delivery of the final crown once the bone has fully integrated. Healing times vary, but most people return after three to six months.
For All on X procedures such as All on 4, All on 6, and full mouth implants, you should always expect two trips. On the first trip, the surgeon places the implants and provides same day teeth so you never leave with a removable denture. This visit usually takes four days. The second trip, typically lasting ten to twelve days, is when we complete your permanent prosthesis. Our in house lab designs, mills, and refines your final teeth with multiple try ins to ensure a perfect bite and esthetic match.
A small percentage of complex cases, especially those involving severe bone loss, zygomatic implants, or major grafting, may require a third visit. These situations are evaluated during your consultation so you can plan travel with clarity. Overall, SOTA Dental aims to minimize the number of trips while maintaining the highest standards in function, esthetics, and long term success.
