Zygomatic implants in Mexico follow a different timeline from traditional All on 4 or All on 6 because they are used for patients with extreme upper jaw bone loss. At SOTA Dental, these cases require very careful planning, advanced imaging, and sometimes collaboration with a maxillofacial surgeon. Most patients need two or three trips to Mexico because the healing process varies widely depending on how much bone loss they have and which additional procedures are required.
Your first trip is usually five to seven days. During this visit, our surgical team places the long zygomatic implants into the cheekbone, sometimes combined with bone grafts or pterygoid implants. Many patients can still receive same day teeth, but the complexity of the case means treatment is slower and more delicate than a standard implant procedure. After returning home, healing can take several months as the zygomatic implants integrate with the upper facial structures.
Most patients return for a second or third trip for their permanent prosthesis. This phase includes multiple digital scans, bite evaluations, and try ins because zygomatic cases require the highest level of precision. Due to the specialized nature of these implants, the total treatment timeline varies from patient to patient, but the quality and attention to detail at SOTA Dental remain consistent.
