What Are All on 6
Dental Implants?

All on 6 dental implants are a full-mouth restoration technique designed to rehabilitate patients with significant tooth loss or those who need a comprehensive dental solution.

This system involves placing six dental implants into the jawbone to serve as a stable foundation for a full-arch prosthetic, offering increased support and stability compared to other systems, such as the All on 4.

All on 6 implants are often recommended for patients with lower bone density or those seeking a more robust, long-lasting option. By using six implants instead of four, the All on 6 system distributes chewing forces more evenly across the jaw, making it an ideal choice for individuals with a history of significant bone loss or those seeking additional support for their prosthetic teeth.

Parts of an All on 6

  • Six Implants: Titanium screws integrated into the jawbone

  • Abutments: Connectors between the implants and prosthesis

  • Temporary Prosthesis: Fixed teeth placed right after surgery so patients never go without teeth

  • Final Prosthesis: A custom, durable set of teeth made from acrylic, porcelain, or zirconia

Benefits of All on 6 Implants: Why Choose This Option?

1. Enhanced Stability

With six implants securing the full-arch prosthetic, All on 6 implants provide a more secure and stable foundation, especially when compared to the All on 4 system. This stability is critical for patients with softer bone structure or those who have experienced previous implant failures.

2. Longer-Lasting Solution

All on 6 implants tend to have a longer lifespan due to the even distribution of forces across the arch. The additional implants help reduce stress on each individual implant, which can contribute to the overall longevity of the system.

3. Improved Chewing Function

With six implants, the prosthesis can handle a greater biting force, allowing patients to enjoy a wider variety of foods without concerns about damaging the prosthetic. This improved function is often cited as one of the major advantages over All on 4 implants.

4. Bone Health and Preservation

All on 6 implants stimulate a larger surface area of the jawbone compared to All on 4, which can promote better bone health and prevent bone resorption. The implants’ strategic placement encourages continuous bone regeneration, reducing the risk of future bone loss.

Who is a candidate for
the All on 6?

You may be a candidate for an All on 6 procedure if you:

  • Are missing most or all of your teeth

  • Have sufficient bone density, or can undergo grafting

  • Desire a fixed, permanent solution instead of removable dentures

  • Are in good general health for surgery

The All on 6 procedure is not recommended in the event of: uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking, untreated gum disease, or serious health conditions that affect healing.

How is the All on 6 procedure
done in Mexico?

The patient is undergoing a CT Scan for a dental implant treatment in Mexico,
The doctor is at the PC reviewing the information of an All on 4 patient in Mexico.

The All on 6 procedure is a surgical oral rehabilitation, hence, it will take a couple of visits to the dentist. The whole procedure might last anywhere from 4 to 12 months depending on the case’s complexity. The result is a new life with a beautiful smile.

In the initial visit, our doctors will examine the patient’s mouth. They will look at their medical records and take the necessary x-rays and/or CBCT scans. The purpose of this is to have enough information to determine if the patient is a good candidate for the procedure. The doctor will also consider their medical conditions that might require extra steps in the process.

If our doctors find you to be a good candidate for the All on X and you opt to continue with the treatment, then the surgery takes place. Our doctors will first take measurements and impressions of the patient’s mouth.

Next, the patient will be sedated and the remaining teeth removed. The dentist will then cut incisions to expose the jawbone and drill holes with a pilot drill.

The implants will then be placed. In the All on 6 procedure, most of the time the doctors will place the implants in the frontal area at a 90° angle, and the ones in the back area at 45°. This serves two purposes, it gives more stability to
the denture as well as prevents damaging

the nerve that is in the back of the jawbone. The doctor will close the incisions once the implants are in the right position. At this point, a temporary denture will be provided for day-to-day use.

How long does the process take?

The All on 6 process is different for every person. Treatment times depend on a lot of factors, such as the quality of the patient’s bone, their general health or pre-existing conditions, how well the body accepts the implants, the complexity of the case, etc. Usually, you can expect to visit your dentist at least two times.

  • Initial Surgery Trip: 7–10 days in Mexico for consultation, extractions, implant placement, and temporary prosthesis.

  • Healing: 4–6 months for osseointegration.

  • Second Trip: 5–7 days to fit and place the permanent prosthesis.

What prosthesis materials and Options do I have for an All on 6 in Mexico?

There are many different types of materials on the market. Different doctors work with different brands and materials. It is a good idea to ask your dentist for their top choice regarding brands and inquire more about it. At SOTA Dental we use 4 primary materials:

Acrylic – $

  • Pros: Easily repairable, affordable, and upgradable.
  • Cons: Not as aesthetic or durable as other options, picks up odors if not treated with proper care.

PMMA
– $$

  • Pros: This material is milled from a single block, making it more consistent and resistant than acrylic.
  • Cons: More expensive than acrylic.

Zirconia
– $$$

  • Pros: One of the strongest and hardest materials on the market. More durable than acrylic and PMMA. Highly aesthetic.
  • Cons: Very heavy. More expensive. Could require more implants.

Nano Ceramic
– $$$

  • Pros: Highly aesthetic. High translucency. Good flexibility. Lightweight. Easily repairable. Similar to natural teeth.
  • Cons: More expensive. Not all doctors offer this material.

If you decide to go with one of the cheaper options, you can always upgrade your prosthesis in the future. It is just a matter of taking your denture out, scanning it, and milling the new one. All of our materials are FDA-approved

If you want to know more about the materials we use, please watch the video below.

Amazing Multi-Year Experience

September 25, 2025

My first experience with this clinic was in 2018. Dr Diego and Dr Nestor and the entire staff welcomed me like family. The total experience was truly amazing and inspiring. Since than I have returned 3 times. The latest was October 2025. Although there has been a number of new staff and expansion to there facilities, which makes your experience totally simple. My latest procedure was 6 implants, which obviously requires surgery. I was lightly sedated to the be point where I can still respond to there commands. I believe comfort and support is a top priority to there support team. They have reached out on several occasions to ensure that my health and recovery was most important. Totally pain free experience I have recommended and sent many patients there way and will continue to do so. You are truly the best !!!!! Great educated Doctors and staff

Far Better Than the US, FANTASTIC Service

September 20, 2024

I have had trouble with my teeth for many years and finally made the decision to investigate doing All on 4 to finally be done with my issues.

After having seen quotes for $40K minimum in the US, I contacted SOTA Dental for a consultation and a quote. I was very pleasantly surprised that they would be able to do All on 6 for FAR less that anywhere in the US would do All on 4!

My wife and I traveled to Tijuana and had the extraction and denture portion done, and had an absolutely fantastic experience here – in fact, the best experience I have ever had at any dental office in my life. From arranging shuttles to and from the hotel, to even arranging a ride to the airport in San Diego, they helped us through what could have been a very stressful situation.

Their facilities are VERY clean and easily the equal of any office in the US. Many friends and family were anxious about me getting this done out of the country, but the experience was FAR better than what I would have expected locally.

Dr. Alfredo Carral Camacho, Dr. Juan Trejo, Evelyn at the front desk and Antonio in Patient Support were all wonderful and helpful. They answered every question I had, went above and beyond to help us feel welcome and are just the best I have ever dealt with in taking us through the process with very little worries. Honestly – dental centers in the US need to learn from the SOTA team – they were just great and I can highly recommend them to anyone in search of doing All on 4 or All on 6 replacements!

If you re thinking about this procedure, please give these folks your business – they are FANTASTIC!
